Fix an iPhone recording that stopped early or didn't save What the messages mean when an iPhone recording stops early, doesn't save, or its link doesn't finish, and how to get the video back.
Where to find it Files → On this iPhone → the recording
How to do it 1 Open Files → On this iPhone and tap the recording.
2 If it says The recording stopped early , the video up to that point is kept and you can share or edit it.
3 If iOS stopped the recording before its link finished, tap Share link to upload it again.
4 If it says This recording didn't save , nothing could be kept. Record again.
Good to know iOS can end a screen recording on its own, for example when the iPhone gets low on memory or storage. FrameCast keeps whatever plays. Recordings stay on your iPhone until you delete them, even if the link fails.
