Control your Mac from your iPhone

See your Mac's screen on your iPhone and use its mouse and keyboard, over Wi-Fi or cellular, from anywhere.

Where to find it

iPhone: Account → Control a Mac. Mac: FrameCast settings → Remote control

How to do it

  1. On the Mac, open FrameCast's settings → Remote control and turn on Allow control from my iPhone. Give it the Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions it asks for.

  2. On the iPhone, signed in to the same account, go to Account → Control a Mac and tap your Mac.

  3. The first time, click Allow on the Mac. After that the iPhone connects on its own.

  4. Drag one finger to move the pointer and tap to click. Use the menu at the top to switch between Trackpad and Touch, and the keyboard button to type.

Good to know

  • The Mac must be awake, unlocked, and running FrameCast. There's no sound from the Mac.
  • Leaving the FrameCast app ends the session after a short while. Choose the Mac again to reconnect.
  • The bar at the top of the Mac shows which iPhone is in control, with Stop.
