Grant screen recording permission

Recordings and screenshots need Screen Recording permission. Allow it in System Settings, then quit and reopen FrameCast so macOS applies it.

Where to find it

Studio → Settings → Permissions → Screen Recording

How to do it

  1. Open the studio and choose Settings.

  2. Under Permissions, click Screen Recording. macOS asks once, or System Settings opens at Privacy & Security.

  3. In Screen & System Audio Recording, turn FrameCast on.

  4. Quit FrameCast from the menu bar with Quit FrameCast, then open it again from Applications.

  5. Back in the studio, Screen Recording shows a green check.

Good to know

  • If you see “Screen Recording was just granted. Quit and reopen FrameCast to start capturing.”, macOS needs the restart before it lets FrameCast capture.
  • In the setup checklist this step is called Let FrameCast see your screen, with an Allow button.
