Back up your iPhone photos with photo sync

Photo sync uploads every photo and video in your library to FrameCast in the background, so you can find them on the web and your Mac.

Where to find it

iPhone → Files → Photo sync

The Photo Sync screen on iPhone with upload counts, the Sync photos to FrameCast switch, what to send, and Save to set to Camera Uploads in My Files.

How to do it

  1. In the Files tab, tap Photo sync.

  2. Turn on Sync photos to FrameCast and allow access to all photos.

  3. Under What to send, choose Photos to send: everything, or New photos from now on. Tap Albums to send only certain albums.

  4. Set Include videos, Skip screenshots, and Wi-Fi only.

  5. Photos land in Camera Uploads in My Files unless you change Save to.

Good to know

  • iOS uploads in the background when it can, mostly while the iPhone charges on Wi-Fi. Photos stay in your photo library.
  • Waiting to upload shows what hasn't gone yet. Photo sync stops when storage is full.
