Keyboard overlay for safe demo recordings
A key overlay shows what you press while you teach shortcuts. FrameCast draws those keys on your screen — they are not sent anywhere — but anything visible in a recording can still leak secrets.
Use the overlay for command demos. Turn it off before passwords, card numbers, or recovery codes.
Enable the overlay
Allow Input Monitoring and Accessibility for FrameCast, then quit and reopen the app. The studio can open those System Settings panes when a permission is still off.
Safe demo checklist
- Show shortcut sequences with the overlay on
- Pause or hide the overlay before any secret field
- Prefer password managers’ fill gestures off-camera when possible
- Review the take once — keys burned into video cannot be un-typed
Privacy note
Keys are rendered locally for the overlay. Still treat the recording like any screen capture: if a secret appears in the frame, it is in the file.
