Add a name label or title on screen

Add a text plate, like your name or a lesson title, in its own window. Style the text, shape, and background, and move it anywhere.

Where to find it

Studio → Overlays → Label

A Mac desktop with FrameCast overlays: a name label, a photo, a round camera, a keys overlay, and a live caption bar.

How to do it

  1. Open the studio and choose Overlays.

  2. Press Label at the bottom of the Overlays card. Or choose Add Label under Overlays in the menu bar.

  3. Type in Text, and set Text size, color, Bold, Mono, and Align.

  4. Under Look, pick a shape, Background color, Ring, and Background opacity.

  5. Drag the label on screen to move it. Drag its edges to resize, or scroll to resize the text.

Good to know

  • Each overlay is its own window. Use the eye button in the list to hide one, or the duplicate and trash buttons.
  • Give it a Name to find it in the menu bar’s Overlays list.
