Edit a recording

Add background music to a video

Import a song or compose one to fit. Music fades in and out, plays through cuts, and dips automatically while someone speaks.

Where to find it

Editor → select the audio clip → Edit tab → Audio clip → Music

How to do it

  1. Import the song and place it on an audio track. Files 20 seconds or longer arrive marked as music.

  2. Select the clip. In the Audio clip card, make sure Music is on, and set its Volume.

  3. Set Fade in and Fade out, up to 10 seconds each.

  4. Turn on Dip under speech, and set Dip for how far it drops while someone talks.

Good to know

  • To have music made for the edit, deselect everything and use the Music card: pick a mood, then press the Compose music button, which shows the price first. It needs sign-in.
  • Dip under speech and Dip apply to every music clip in the project.
