Edit a recording

Add videos, images and audio to a project

Import files or a whole folder into the asset library, then place them on the timeline by dragging or double-clicking.

Where to find it

Editor → asset library → + button → Import files…

How to do it

  1. Press the + button above the asset library and choose Import files…. You can pick videos, images, audio, or a folder.

  2. Or drag files from Finder: onto the preview to add and place them, onto a track to place them at that point, or onto the library to only add them.

  3. Double-click an asset to place it at the playhead, or right-click it for Add at playhead or Append to timeline.

  4. Drag the clip along its track to move it, or up to a higher track to show it on top.

Good to know

  • Still images start at five seconds. A folder adds up to 200 files, in Finder’s name order.
  • Imports are copied into the project; the originals stay where they are. Signed in, Save to My assets on a project asset makes it show up in every project.
