Edit a recording

Change a video to vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts

Set the canvas to Reel, Square, Portrait or another size. A screen recording is cropped to match and can follow your mouse.

Where to find it

Editor → Canvas (above the preview) → Size & shape

How to do it

  1. Press Canvas at the top of the preview, or click the preview outside every clip.

  2. In Size & shape on the Edit tab, choose Reel (1080×1920), Square, Portrait, Landscape or Cinema.

  3. To type a size, enter the width and height beside Size, or pick one such as 2160 × 3840 · 4K Reel from the sizes menu next to them.

  4. Choose a Motion for the recording, such as Follow mouse, so the crop stays on the action.

Good to know

  • The canvas applies to the whole timeline. Full frame goes back to the recording’s own size.
  • You can also drag the canvas’s edges in the preview to resize it. Everything on it keeps its size and place.
