Edit a recording

Make the video follow your mouse

When the canvas is smaller than the screen, Follow mouse pans the crop with your cursor, with smoothing for calm camera moves.

Where to find it

Editor → Canvas → Size & shape → Motion, or select the recording → Crop → Motion

How to do it

  1. Give the canvas a shape that crops the recording, such as Reel, in Size & shape.

  2. Click the recording to select it.

  3. In the Crop card, set Motion to Follow mouse.

  4. Raise Smoothing for slower, calmer moves, or lower it to keep up with quick movements.

Good to know

  • Recorded viewport follows the framing you steered while recording, when you moved it during the take.
  • Motion appears once the shape crops the recording. A canvas that shows the whole screen has nothing to move.
  • Follow mouse needs a cursor path, which FrameCast recordings save automatically. Older recordings without one can’t use it.
