Edit a video on your iPhone

Trim, split, and arrange clips on a touch timeline, add photos and music, and use the same editing tools as the Mac app. The original stays as it was.

Where to find it

Files → On this iPhone → a recording → Edit video

The FrameCast iPhone editor with the preview at the top, a timeline with text, video, and music tracks, and the Edit by text panel below.

How to do it

  1. Open a recording and tap Edit video.

  2. Tap a clip to select it, drag it to move it, pull its handles to trim, and pinch the timeline to zoom.

  3. Use the bar under the timeline for Split, Duplicate, Delete, Text, Effect, and Track. Touch and hold a clip for more.

  4. Open Media and tap Photos or Files to add pictures, video, or music.

  5. Tap Done to leave. The project saves a few seconds after each change.

Good to know

  • Double-tap the preview to play or pause. Undo and redo are at the top.
  • The tabs are Edit, Media, Words, Voice, Music, Frame, Captions, and Output.
  • Deleting the recording also deletes its editing project.
