Export & GIFs

Export a recording as MP4, ProRes or GIF from its card

Use Export As… on a recording’s corner card to save it in another format and size without opening the editor.

Where to find it

Recording card in the corner → More → Export As…

How to do it

  1. After you stop recording, press More on the recording’s card in the corner.

  2. Choose Export As…, or press X while the panel is open.

  3. Pick MP4, HEVC, ProRes or GIF, then the Resolution and Quality, or the GIF’s Frame rate, Size and Colors.

  4. Check the size and estimate, then press Export… or Export GIF… and choose where to save.

  5. When it finishes, press Show on the message to see the file in Finder.

Good to know

  • It exports the take as recorded, without edits. GIFs start at 480p here, and the choices are remembered apart from the editor’s.
  • You can pin Export to the card so it’s one click. Screenshot cards don’t offer it.
