Save only the audio from a video

Save the timeline’s mixed sound as its own audio file, for a podcast or to send separately.

Where to find it

Editor → select an audio clip → Edit tab → Audio clip → Save preview audio separately…

How to do it

  1. Select an audio clip on the timeline. If there isn’t one, select the video and press Detach audio first.

  2. In the Audio clip card on the Edit tab, press Save preview audio separately….

  3. Choose a name and folder.

Good to know

  • It saves the whole timeline’s mix as you hear it in the preview, not only the selected clip.
