Record your screen

Mark up a screenshot

Add arrows, boxes, text, callouts, numbered steps, blur, a spotlight, or a magnifier, crop it, and put it on a background. Markup stays editable.

Where to find it

Screenshot thumbnail → Markup, or Studio → Screenshots → double-click a screenshot

How to do it

  1. Point at a screenshot’s thumbnail and press Markup. Or double-click it on the Screenshots page.

  2. Pick a tool from the toolbar, such as arrow, box, text, callout, numbered steps, or blur, and drag on the screenshot.

  3. Click anything you added to change its color, width, or text in the inspector.

  4. Use Crop to keep part of it, and the background button to set it on a gradient.

  5. Press Done (⌘Return) to save, or Copy to copy the marked-up image.

Good to know

  • Markup stays editable. Open the screenshot again to move or change any of it.
  • Blur can blur, pixelate, or black out. Check the result before sharing anything sensitive.
