Remove ums and long pauses on iPhone

Smart cleanup finds long pauses, ums, repeated words, and restarts in your recording. Review the edits, then apply them in one step.

Where to find it

Editor → Words tab → Smart cleanup

How to do it

  1. In the editor, open the Words tab and tap Transcribe speech under Edit by text.

  2. In Smart cleanup, choose what to find, such as Tighten long pauses and Um, uh, and hesitation sounds.

  3. Tap Find edits and look through the list. Tap a time to hear the original there.

  4. Tap the Apply button, which shows how many edits it will make. Undo restores everything in one step.

Good to know

  • To cut specific words, tap them in Edit by text and tap Cut from video.
  • Chapters in the same tab finds where the topic changes, ready to paste into a YouTube description.
