FrameCast

Record your screen

Use FrameCast for ⇧⌘3, ⇧⌘4, and ⇧⌘5

FrameCast can take over macOS’s screenshot keys while it runs, or leave them to macOS and use its own. macOS gets them back when FrameCast quits.

Where to find it

Studio → Screenshots → Shortcuts → Keyboard

How to do it

  1. Open the studio and choose Screenshots.

  2. Turn Replace macOS screenshot shortcuts on to use ⇧⌘3, ⇧⌘4, and ⇧⌘5 for FrameCast.

  3. Turn it off to give them back to macOS. FrameCast then uses ⇧⌥⌘3, ⇧⌥⌘4, and ⇧⌥⌘5.

  4. If macOS won’t release its keys, press Open Keyboard Shortcuts…, turn off the Screenshots shortcuts there, then press Check Again.

Good to know

  • While global shortcuts are off, macOS has its screenshot keys until you turn them back on.
