Camera & overlays

Show your camera on screen

Turn on the floating camera, a webcam bubble that floats over every app and records with your screen. Pick which camera and its quality.

Where to find it

Studio → Camera & look → Camera overlay

How to do it

  1. Open the studio and choose Camera & look.

  2. Turn on Camera overlay at the top, or press ⌥⌘V. Allow camera access if macOS asks.

  3. Under Camera, pick a Device, and set Resolution and Frame rate.

  4. Drag the camera where you want it. Press ⌥⌘V again to hide it.

Good to know

  • Release camera while hidden turns the camera off while the overlay is hidden, so its light goes out.
  • Any camera macOS sees, built-in or external, appears in Device.
