FrameCast

MAC · IPHONE · WEB · FREE TO START

Loom, Dropbox, and Google Meet had a baby.

We named it FrameCast. It also got CleanShot’s eye for screenshots, Paste’s memory, and a voice made for radio.

Record your screen and send a link. Capture and mark up screenshots. Find anything you copied. Turn a script into a narrated video. Meet from a link. Keep every file in one place. One app, one account, free to start.

No account needed to record, edit, or capture. Signed and notarized by Apple. macOS 14 or later. Also on iPhone.

PLEASE WELCOME

It’s a FrameCast!

Stuff you never knew your Mac needed

Apple sketched it.
FrameCast finished it.

macOS has the rough drafts: a screenshot thumbnail that slides away, text you can lift from some images, a clipboard history tucked inside Spotlight. FrameCast turns each one into the tool you reach for fifty times a day. Watch.

Never lose a screenshot again. macOS flashes a thumbnail, then drops the file on your desktop with all the others. FrameCast keeps every capture in a pile in the corner until you’re done with it. Copy them all at once and paste them anywhere.

Get all of it free

Screenshots, markup, text capture, calendar events, and clipboard history are free, with no account. Clipboard sync to iPhone is part of Pro.

The family resemblance

It gets that from its parents.

Most of us pay for a recorder, a screenshot tool, a clipboard app, a voice service, a meeting app, and a drive, and then shuffle files between them. FrameCast does all eight jobs below, and they already know about each other: a screenshot can become a calendar invite with a call link, a meeting recording becomes a share link, and everything lands in the same Files.

Loom, Dropbox, Google Meet, Google Photos, CleanShot X, Paste, Descript, and mmhmm are trademarks of their owners. FrameCast isn’t affiliated with any of them. It just has their eyes.

All of it, working together

One morning.
Six apps’ worth of work.

A screenshot books a meeting. The meeting writes its own to-do list. The to-do becomes a recording, the recording becomes a link, the link lands in a reply, and the same take becomes a promo. Every piece is already filed by lunch. No exports, no uploads, no switching apps.

A screenshot books the meeting. Jessica emails about a kickoff. One capture turns it into a calendar event with a FrameCast call link already in it.

Screenshots, calendar events, recording, cleanup, captions, and clipboard history are free. Meetings are free with time limits. AI notes need notes turned on in the meeting. Suggested visuals and music use credits. Seeing who watched a link is part of Pro.

Screenshots

⇧⌘4 went to college.

Same keys you already press. Now every capture lands in a pile of cards in the corner, ready to copy, mark up, share as a link, or turn into text. Nothing to learn, and nothing to install twice.

  • ⇧⌘3 Screen
  • ⇧⌘4 Area or window
  • ⇧⌘5 Capture bar
  • ⇧⌘2 Copy text
Your keys, upgraded
FrameCast takes over ⇧⌘3, ⇧⌘4, and ⇧⌘5 by default, so the shortcuts you already know open a better capture. The screen freezes while you pick, so menus and hover states hold still.
Copy text from anything
Press ⇧⌘2 and drag over any part of the screen, even a photo or a paused video. The words are on your clipboard, read on your Mac.
Markup that stays editable
Arrows, boxes, callouts, numbered steps, a spotlight, a magnifier, and blur or redact for the private bits. Every mark stays movable, in layers.
A link, not an attachment
Each capture can go to your Screenshots folder in FrameCast Files. Copy a link to the image, and image links don’t count against your free video links.
Find it by what it says
Screenshots are named from the text on them. Search history by the words inside an image, then drag one straight into any app.
A screenshot becomes a meeting
Capture an invite and choose Extract Event. FrameCast reads the date, time, place, and invitees on your Mac and adds it to your calendar, with a FrameCast call link if you like.

Free. Capture, markup, and text recognition run on your Mac. Uploads use your FrameCast storage.

Clipboard

You copied it on Tuesday. It’s still here.

A clipboard with a memory. Copy all day, then press ⌃⌥⌘V, type a word, and paste the thing you need, in the app you were already in.

Everything you copied
Text, links, images, and files, kept for an hour or forever, up to 2,500 items. Pin the ones you reuse.
Search, then Return
Press ⌃⌥⌘V, type a word, even one inside a copied image, and press Return to paste it into the app you were in.
Private by default
Stored encrypted on your Mac. Copies marked as passwords and copies from password managers are never kept. Lock it with Touch ID.
On your iPhone too
With Pro, your history syncs end to end encrypted to the iPhone app. FrameCast’s servers only ever see scrambled data.

From rough take to finished video

Record it rough.
Ship it polished.

Talk the way you talk. FrameCast snips the ums, captions every word, finds b-roll for what you said, scores it with music that ducks under your voice, and reframes it for every feed. No editor required, including you.

Hit record and talk. Record the screen with your camera in the corner. No script, no retakes. FrameCast notes when you click and type, so the edit can zoom in on the action later.

Recording, cleanup, captions, chapters, reframing, and 4K export are free. Cleanup and captions on Mac need macOS 26 or later. AI narration, voices, suggested visuals, and music use credits, and the price is shown before you start.

AI video and voice

Type a script.
Get a video.

No camera, no voice actor, no stock-footage tab. Write what you want to say, or hand FrameCast your product’s website and it writes the script from what the site actually says. Then a natural voice reads it, and every line gets a shot.

Generated stills and clips come from a shot list with a cast sheet, so the same person, product, or place looks the same in every shot. Prefer real footage? Use royalty-free stock instead.

AI voice-over in the FrameCast iPhone editor: a text track of three lines on the timeline, with options to voice the text track, one line, or a typed script.

Paste your website. Give FrameCast your site’s address. It reads the page and a few of its links to learn what you actually do.

Voices and music are made with ElevenLabs. Generation is paid with credits that work on Mac, iPhone, and the web: the price is shown before you press Generate, and anything unused is refunded. Voice previews, voice suggestions, and stock searches are free. Website-to-script and generated visuals are in the Mac app and the web editor; voice-over is on iPhone too.

Meetings

Meetings without “can you download this real quick?”

Start a call from the Mac, the iPhone, or the web and send the link. Free one-to-one calls run up to 4 hours, and group calls up to 40 minutes. Pro lifts the group limit.

Guests just click

Hosts record the call and it lands in a Meetings folder, ready to share like any other FrameCast video.

Screen recording and instant links
Record the whole iPhone with app sound and the microphone, from FrameCast or Control Center. Recording continues after you leave the app. Instant link uploads while you record, and the link is ready when you stop. Captions, a transcript, chapters, and a title are made on the iPhone and added to the link.
Camera
Photo, Video, and Video message. Switch lenses, pinch to zoom, use the flash, and tap to focus and expose. Photos go up to 48 MP, in HEIF or JPEG, and video is HEVC. The Camera Control button is the shutter. Save to My Files, a team folder, or Camera uploads. Shots keep uploading after you leave the app.
Photo sync
Turn it on and iOS uploads in the background, mostly while the iPhone charges on Wi-Fi. Send the whole library or chosen albums, everything already on the phone or only new photos. Include videos, skip screenshots, or wait for Wi-Fi. Photos stay in your library as well. A team folder asks you to confirm first, then keeps a folder for each person, split by year and month. Free includes 15 GB for files and synced photos. Pro includes 200 GB. Team pools 1 TB.
Files on every device
My Files, every team’s drive, shared links, and Trash. Browse as a grid or a list, search, and filter by person, device, or type. The same drives appear in the Files app under Locations, on the web, and in Finder on the Mac.
The editor
The same editor as the Mac app. Trim, split, change speed, and stack video, photos, and music. Cut by tapping words, shorten pauses, and clean out filler. Burn in captions, reframe for Reels, Shorts, or square, and add blur, spotlight, and redact. Export MP4, HEVC, ProRes, or GIF. A video export becomes a new take, ready to share. AI voice-over uses the same voice credits as Mac and the web, and previews are free.
One account
Sign in with the same FrameCast account as the Mac and the web. Every link from every device is in one list, so you can copy, open, share, or delete it. Voice credits bought on iPhone work on the Mac. Recording and editing on the phone work without an account. Sharing a link and photo sync use your FrameCast account.

One take, every format

Record once. Post it anywhere.

FrameCast records the whole screen at full resolution, so you never choose a shape before you press record. When you stop, pick Reel, Portrait, Square, or widescreen, and the crop follows your mouse through the take.

  • 16:9
    YouTube and slides
  • 4:5
    Instagram feed
  • 1:1
    LinkedIn and X
  • 9:16
    Reels, TikTok, Shorts
Follow the mouse
The crop pans with your cursor, with as much smoothing as you like, so a tall Reel never loses the action.
Zoom on clicks
Eases in on each click and while you type, then back out. FrameCast notes when you click and type, never which keys.
Every shape from one take
The recording keeps the whole screen. Save it as a project and export a Reel, a square, and a widescreen cut without recording again.

Have a video already? Open it in the Mac app or the web editor and reframe it for any feed. The crop holds wherever you place it.

Web editor

Finish the cut in your browser.

Open the editor on any computer, drop in a video, and export an MP4. Editing happens on your device, so your footage is not uploaded unless you save it to the cloud. The editor is free. AI voice-over uses separate credits; paid plans add more sharing and cloud features.

Open the editor

Chrome, Edge, or Safari. No account needed.

Cut and reframe

Captions from speech
Transcribe on your device, pick a caption style, and burn it in or save SRT and WebVTT files.
Smart cleanup
Cut the ums, repeated words, and long pauses in one step. One undo puts it all back.
Chapters
Found where the topic changes, with titles, ready to paste into YouTube.
Voice-over
Type a script or use your transcript, and get a natural voice timed to your words.
Polished sound
Turn down room noise, soften harsh S sounds, and land on YouTube loudness.

Record on your Mac and open the take here, or use the browser recorder when you need a link from another computer. The browser recorder follows your sharing plan limits.

Camera & look

A little you, in the corner of the work.

Shape

Circle, squircle, star, heart, and the rest. Add a ring, a shadow, and a look you can save.

Background

Keep the room, blur it, drop in a flat color for chroma key, or leave only you.

Picture

Pick the camera, frame the shot, and let face tracking follow you. Mirror or freeze when you need a still.

Window

Click through so the overlay ignores the mouse, lock it in place, or snap it to a corner of the screen.

Camera and look settings: shape presets including a star, ring, camera device and resolution, framing, face tracking, and window position.

Screen recording

Press record. Decide later.

Record the whole display at full resolution, or drag a frame around the one window that matters. There is no shape or quality to choose first. System audio is separate from your voice, so turn the microphone on when you want to be in the take. When you stop, the editor opens and you choose the shape, the resolution, and whether the crop follows your mouse.

Overlays

Set the scene.

  • A title, a photo, or another crop of the screen, each in its own window.
  • Live captions from speech recognition on your Mac.
  • An optional key display while you demonstrate. Leave it off for passwords.
A lesson on screen with a circular camera overlay, a photo, a name label, pressed keys, and a live caption.

Video briefs

Give your video a memory.

Turn a recording into structured evidence for an AI: speech, on-screen text, visual notes, and selected images, with timestamps. It is processed on your Mac. You get self-describing JSON, or a compressed bundle with a storyboard. Briefs are sampled — short actions can be missed, and those limits travel with the file.

Read the screen
On-screen text, image categories, and face and human locations, aligned to the timeline.
Follow the words
Automatic speech transcription on your Mac, with the original timing.
Take it anywhere
Export the brief yourself. FrameCast does not upload it.

Recording, editing, and sharing: your questions

What is free in FrameCast?
Unlimited local screen recording and editing on Mac, with watermark-free exports up to 4K, plus screenshots with markup and clipboard history. Local recording needs no account. Captions and transcript tools on Mac require macOS 26 or later.
Does FrameCast replace my screenshot app?
It can. FrameCast takes over the macOS screenshot shortcuts by default (you can turn that off). It captures the screen, an area, or a window, copies text from any part of the screen with ⇧⌘2, marks up images with editable arrows, callouts, steps, and redaction, and keeps a searchable history. Captures can upload to FrameCast Files and copy a link.
How does the clipboard manager handle passwords?
History is stored encrypted on your Mac. FrameCast skips copies that apps mark as passwords or private, and ignores password managers such as 1Password, Bitwarden, and Apple Passwords by default. You can lock the history with Touch ID, and it never appears in screenshots or recordings. Sync to iPhone is a Pro feature and is end-to-end encrypted.
How does AI video from a script work?
Start a project from a script, or from a website and let FrameCast draft the script from what the site says. Choose a voice for the voice-over, then add royalty-free stock or AI-generated stills and clips for each line. Everything is placed on the timeline for you to edit. Generation is paid with credits, the price is shown before you start, and any unused part is refunded.
Do meeting guests need FrameCast?
No. Guests join from a browser link with no account or download. Free meetings hold up to 25 people; one-to-one calls run up to 4 hours and group calls up to 40 minutes. Pro removes the group time limit.
How many video links can I share for free?
Sign in to keep 25 live shared links at once, up to 30 minutes each at 1080p. Delete a shared video to make room for another. Free watch pages carry a FrameCast badge; local exports have no watermark.
What does Pro cost?
Pro is $60.00 billed annually, equivalent to $5.00/month. It adds unlimited live links, shared videos up to 4 hours in 4K, viewer insights, link controls, 200 GB of storage, and clipboard sync. AI voice and video credits are separate.
What does the iPhone app do?
FrameCast on iPhone records the screen with app sound and the microphone, and can share a link the moment you stop. The camera saves photos and video into a folder you pick. Photo sync uploads your library, or chosen albums, to FrameCast Files in the background. It also has your clipboard history and meetings. The editor trims, captions, cleans up, reframes, and exports MP4, HEVC, ProRes, or GIF. It uses the same account as the Mac app. Requires iOS 26.1 or later.

Record. Edit. Share a link.

On Mac, open the disk image, drag FrameCast to Applications, and open it. It lives in your menu bar, in light or dark. On iPhone, get it from the App Store and sign in with the same account.

Local recording is free without an account. Sign in for sharing. macOS 14 or later. iOS 26.1 or later. Also on the App Store, or edit in your browser.
