Add chapters and copy them for YouTube

Find chapters where the topic changes, rename them, and copy a 0:00 Title list to paste into a YouTube description.

Where to find it

Editor → Words tab → Chapters

How to do it

  1. Transcribe the recording so chapters can be found from what was said.

  2. In the Chapters card on the Words tab, press Find chapters, or Add at playhead to mark one yourself.

  3. Type a new title for each chapter, or remove ones you don’t want.

  4. Press Copy YouTube chapters and paste the list into the YouTube description.

Good to know

  • YouTube needs the first chapter at 0:00, at least three chapters, and each at least 10 seconds. FrameCast warns when the list breaks those rules.
  • Chapters show on the timeline ruler and move with your cuts.
