Captions & transcripts

Download a transcript as SRT, WebVTT or text

Save the Text track as an SRT or WebVTT subtitle file for YouTube and other players, or as plain text.

Where to find it

Editor → Edit tab with nothing selected → Text track → Download

How to do it

  1. Transcribe the recording, or add lines to the Text row.

  2. With nothing selected, find the Text track card on the Edit tab.

  3. Next to Download, press SRT, WebVTT or Text.

  4. Choose where to save the file.

Good to know

  • The file has one cue per Text line, in time order, without delivery cues such as [whispers].
  • It comes from the Text track, not the CC row. To put words in the picture, burn in captions instead.
