Make word-by-word or karaoke captions

Show two or three big words at a time as they’re spoken, or highlight each word as it’s said, the way short-form videos do.

Where to find it

Editor → Export tab → Captions → Style → Word by word

How to do it

  1. In the Captions card on the Export tab, turn on Show on the video.

  2. Under Style, choose Word by word, Karaoke or Hype.

  3. Open Motion to choose how words appear: Word by word, Karaoke, Sing-along, Reveal, Fade, Rise or Pop in.

  4. For Word by word, set Words at a time. For highlights, pick the Highlight color and turn on Box behind the spoken word if you want a block behind it.

Good to know

  • Lines typed by hand have no word timing, so their words are spread evenly across the line.
