Guide
No watermark on a local export
A local FrameCast export — MP4, HEVC, ProRes, or GIF — does not get a watermark burned into the picture. Recording and editing have no time cap and do not require a plan.
A free watch page is different. It can show a Made with FrameCast badge beside the player. That badge is not in the file you save to disk. Pro removes it.

What you can hand someone as a file
Record on the Mac, or open a video you already have. Export video, or Export GIF, and the file is the picture you edited. There is no trial clock on that export.
- H.264 or HEVC in an MP4, ProRes in a MOV, or GIF, on Mac and iPhone
- The web editor writes an MP4 on your device, also without a watermark
- Captions, if you burned them in, are part of the picture
- The web editor does not write GIF or ProRes
What a free link still shows
Publish a share link and the watch page can include the Made with FrameCast badge, a transcript, and chapters. Free includes 25 live share links, up to 30 minutes each, at 1080p, with a view count, comments, and reactions.
Viewer insights — who watched, how far, the drop-off curve, and call-to-action clicks — are on Pro and Team. Everyone gets the view count.
The first thing worth paying for
Keep exporting files for free. Choose Pro when the link is how people watch: unlimited live links, up to 4 hours, 4K, insights, link controls, and your own branding, without the badge. Pro is $5.00/month, $60.00 billed yearly.

- No. Local exports from the Mac app, the iPhone app, and the web editor are not watermarked.
- Why do I still see a FrameCast badge?
- That badge is on a free watch page, not in the exported file. Pro removes it from the watch page.
- Is the no-watermark export limited to a few minutes?
- No. Local recording and export have no time cap. A free share link can be up to 30 minutes.
Takeaways
