A Dropbox alternative for a shared photo and file crew

Pricing notes as of October 12, 2026. Figures can change — confirm on each vendor’s site before you buy.

“Dropbox alternative” covers several different jobs: sync a folder to Windows, send a client a link, back up a phone, or give a crew one place for job photos. FrameCast is built for the last of those, on Mac and iPhone.

Each team is $20.00/month or $220.00/year for one team with 1 TB for up to 250 members, plus $20.00/month per extra terabyte. One login can hold several teams, and My Files stay on your personal plan. The same account records a screen and publishes a watch link. It does not sync a Windows PC, and it does not give an outsider a link to an arbitrary folder.

What FrameCast actually replaces

  • The per-seat sync bill for a small crew

A team of ten on Dropbox Standard is about $150 a month at $15 per user. The same ten on FrameCast Team are $20.00 a month, with 1 TB until you add terabytes.

  • Camera upload that stays in the company folder

Dropbox camera upload belongs to the person. Here, an admin picks the team folder and the layout, and each phone reports whether it is keeping up.

  • A recorder you do not add on

Local recording, editing, captions, and watermark-free export are free. Sharing a video is a watch link, with 25 live links on Free and unlimited links on Pro and Team.

Fair tradeoffs

This is a poor Dropbox replacement for a Windows office, for client folder links, for Paper or e-sign, and for version history. Read the head-to-head pages before you move a library. Prices in the table were checked on October 12, 2026.
