FrameCast vs Google Workspace
Pricing notes as of October 12, 2026. Figures can change — confirm on each vendor’s site before you buy.
Google Workspace is how a company runs Gmail, shared drives, and Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Google One, checked October 12, 2026, is a different product: storage for a Google account, shareable with up to five other people. Workspace seat prices were not on that page, so this article does not state one.
FrameCast is a personal library plus a drive per team. Each team is $20.00/month or $220.00/year with 1 TB for up to 250 members. There is no live editing of documents. There is no SSO.
Side-by-side
| Factor | FrameCast | Google Workspace |
|---|---|---|
| A company library | One drive per team, 1 TB included, billed $20.00/month or $220.00/year. Another team is another drive and another bill. | Shared drives are Workspace’s company library. This page does not quote a per-user Workspace price, because it was not on the Google One plans page. |
| Personal files | My Files stay on your Free or Pro plan. They are not counted against a team, and team admins cannot open them. One email can belong to that personal library and any number of teams. You pick the space. You do not switch accounts. | A personal Google account and a work account are usually separate sign-ins. Google One family sharing, up to five other people, is not a shared drive. |
| Documents | Files are stored and previewed. Nobody co-edits a document, spreadsheet, or slide deck in FrameCast. | Docs, Sheets, and Slides are the reason many companies stay in Workspace. |
| Roles | Owner, admin, member, contributor, and viewer. A restricted folder is hidden unless someone is granted view or edit. Owners and admins always see the team drive. A contributor, meant for field staff, sees only their own uploads plus folders granted to them. No SSO, SCIM, or HIPAA. A verified company domain can offer Join to someone already signed in. They still have to click, an admin can require approval, and public mail hosts such as Gmail, Outlook, and iCloud cannot be verified. | Workspace admin, shared-drive membership, and SSO are part of that product’s reputation. This page does not inventory every admin control. |
| Phones | iPhone photo sync can file into one team folder, after a confirmation that admins will see the photos. There is no Android file app. | Google apps run on iPhone and Android. Photos backup is the Google Photos comparison, and it draws on Google account storage. |
| Recording | The same login records a Mac screen, edits it, and can publish a watch link into the team. Local recording and editing stay free. | Drive will store a video file. A watch page with chapters and viewer insights is not the shared drive. |
When FrameCast is the better fit
Several drives without several Google accounts
A person who works with two companies, or a household and a crew, keeps both on one FrameCast login. Each team is billed on its own.
The quota is only that team’s files
Mail does not spend the team’s 1 TB. Personal files do not spend it either.
Field staff without the whole drive
Contributors upload and record, and they see only their own files plus folders granted to them. Restricted folders hide the rest from ordinary members.
Fair tradeoffs
Stay on Workspace if the work is documents, spreadsheets, slides, or company Gmail, or if Windows PCs must sync the same folder. FrameCast will not pass an SSO review and will not replace Workspace admin. Google One’s 2 TB and 5 TB personal tiers store more per dollar than FrameCast Pro. They are not shared drives. Prices for those personal tiers were checked October 12, 2026.
